Andy Hedley, the winner of the nationwide 'My Car Is The Star' competition and his 1971 Mk 1 Triumph Stag at this year's British International Motor Show.
The British International Motor Show sponsored by Zurich Connect reveals a true love story today, with the winner of their nationwide 'My Car Is The Star' competition. Andy Hedley - a single, 45 year old from Edgware - finally got his hands on his 1971 Mk 1 Triumph Stag after relentlessly pursuing it for 25 years. Andy's story of unrequited love of one car, which he followed across continents and through various owners until finally buying it for himself, has won him the chance to show off his car along side some of the sexiest cars in the world, at The British International Motor Show.
The British International Motor Show sponsored by Zurich Connect opens its doors this week and will wheel spin into history books as the UK's most expensive car collection. The event sponsor, motor insurance company Zurich Connect, has valued the cars on display at over £37.4 million.
In total, the British International Motor Show plays host to over 600 cars from over 60 cars marques, and also boasts 23 global launches and over 50 UK and European debuts. Global Launches include the much anticipated Vauxhall/Opel Insignia, the first all-new model from Lotus in 12 years, Ford's Focus RS - the fastest and most dynamically advanced Focus ever and the 200mph Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed, billed as the fastest saloon car in the world. There are also stunning new offerings from Alfa Romeo, Seat, Nissan, Renault, Mazda and NICE and many more.
The British International Motor Show will be open to the public 23rd July to 3rd August 2008 at ExCeL London.
