2008 sees the third edition of the Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta, taking place from the 15th to the 20th September at Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, the venue for the 2012 Olympics.

This years Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta will see 230 boats and 300 competitors from 11 nations competing in 8 classes. Run by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), the Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta is open to all Olympic Classes. The medal races (Saturday 20th September) at this year's event will be broadcast live over the internet and on a big screen at the Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy.
